 Your Right to Know

You have the right to know what we do with the personal and confidential information we collect about you in the normal course of business of offering, processing, administering and maintaining the insurance and financial products you purchase from us.  Because we value the integrity of our customer relationships, we want to assure you that we are properly safeguarding this important information. 

 

Personal Information We Collect

We need accurate, current personal non public information about you  so that we can determine your insurability and provide products to meet your specific needs at a fair price.  We collect personal information that you provide to us on applications, other forms and in interviews.  In addition, we maintain information about your transactions with us, such as policy coverage, premiums and payment history. We may obtain additional information from third parties which may include agents, employers, other insurers, consumer reporting agencies, motor vehicle reporting bureaus, or health care providers in the course of processing, underwriting or administering your policies and contracts.

 

Information We May Disclose

We may share your personal non public information on a confidential basis only with authorized employees, representatives and third parties whose services are required to assure the highest level of service to you.  By law we are permitted to share information about you without your prior permission under certain circumstances to certain persons and organizations such as:

 

·        Insurance companies from whom we are requesting quotes or coverage

·        Claims adjusters, appraisers, investigators, attorneys and other persons or organizations who perform services for us or your insurance company who need the information to investigate, defend or settle a claim involving you.

·        Insurance support organizations which are established to collect information for the purpose of detecting and preventing insurance crimes and fraudulent claims.

·        Insurance regulatory agencies in connection with the regulation of our business.

·        Law enforcement or other governmental authorities to protect our legal interest, or in cases of suspected fraud or illegal activities.

·        Authorized persons as ordered by subpoena, warrant or other court order or as required by law.

·        Lienholder, mortgagee, assignee, lessor, or other person shown on our records as having a legal or beneficial interest in a policy of insurance.

·        Parties acting in a fiduciary or representative capacity for you (attorneys, accountants, and auditors).

·        Insurance rate advisory organizations.

·        Parties enforcing our rights in connection with the settlement of a debt, the transfer of interests or an audit.

·        Parties administering transactions as requested or authorized by you.

 

We will not disclose any non-public personal information about you or about any other customers or former customers except as authorized by law, as described in this Privacy Notice or as otherwise communicated to you. Because we respect and share your concern for privacy, we will not provide your personal information to anyone outside of our companies except as described above.  We will notify you if we make any material change in this Privacy Notice.  We may share selected personal and financial information about you with our affiliated companies in order to better serve you and to offer you worthwhile products and services.   

 

Protection of Your Information

Reasonable care will be taken to keep pertinent records current, complete and accurate.  If you see any inaccuracy in your statements, or in any other communication from us, we would appreciate your assistance in making corrections by contacting us. 

 We will protect all information collected about you, and we will restrict access to your non-public personal information by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards.  We will restrict access to protected data only to individuals who must use it in the performance of their job-related duties.  Employees who violate our Privacy Policy will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include termination.

 

Privacy Notice From Your Insurance Company

If you are a current customer, you should have received within the last few months a separate notice directly from your insurance company or companies indicating their own privacy policy concerning the information which we provide to them.  New customers will find the company’s privacy policy notice included with their new insurance policy.  If you did not or do not receive such notice, or if you need another copy, you may contact us for assistance in obtaining it.
