Houlton High School music students, staff and volunteers are putting in countless hours this week to prepare for the opening of the annual musical tomorrow night.  This year’s production is “Hairspray, The Musical,” a story sent in 1960s Baltimore, about an aspiring dancer named Tracy Turnblad, who faces adversity and discrimination on her way to stardom.  “Hairspray” follows many other successful Houlton High School productions over the years, including last year’s “Beauty and the Beast.”

Again this year the lead roles will be shared by two actors, who will alternate performances.  The role of Tracy Turnblad will be played by both Allyson Carmichael and Natalie Rush.  The role of Edna Turnblad will be played by Elyjah Crockett and Dakota Gramour.

Performances are Friday, November 16 at 7:00 pm, Saturday, November 17 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm and Sunday, November 18th at 3:00 pm.  Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.  Check out this link for Houlton Community Arts for more information.

Good luck to everyone involved!
