Message From The President |
||||
Welcome to the 2022 FAPCO Summer Newsletter! It has
been a busy start to the second half of our year. Lots of folks are
visiting Maine in unprecedented numbers this summer as well as choosing to
move to our great state permanently! As remote working jobs continue
to proliferate Maine has become an ideal location to call ‘home.' While the telecommuting lifestyle has provided great changes
and opportunity for many, I want to recognize all the folks with jobs,
professions and/or occupations that simply cannot be done remotely.
There are so many important jobs that require face-to-face contact or being
physically present to complete on our behalf. Healthcare
professionals, hospitality and food service workers, contractors of all
types, our municipal workforce, police officers, firefighters and the list
goes on. Thank you, Thank you!! You are all so important to the
running of our economy and to our lives. Have a great summer! Sincerely, Christopher B. Anderson CPCU, WCP President |

2022 Patriotic Pet Photo Contest Winner! Penny, for the
Humane Society Waterville Area |
||||
|
||||
Penny the chihuahua, owned by Jenny Sinclair of Ripley,
received the most likes in our 8th Annual Patriotic Pet Photo Contest, and
with good reason! Penny, formerly Ellie, was found in Waterville and taken
to the Humane Society Waterville Area this spring, seemingly abandoned with
a ruptured eyeball. Supporters of the shelter helped raise funds to pay for
her surgery to remove her eye, and she was soon adopted by Jenny. After she
recovered from her surgery, she became spooked by a loud noise and, while
running away, broke a bone in her foot! Jenny is carefully taking care of
Penny as she has frequent splint changes while her bone heals. Penny is a
tough little dog and is doing well, thanks to the help of people like Jenny
and the great animal shelters in the state of Maine! |

Boating in Maine – We’ve Got You Covered |
||||
Maine is dubbed “Vacationland” and one of the best reasons is
that it is a beautiful place to enjoy water recreation. With miles of ocean
shoreline, rivers, and acres of inland lakes, Maine is home to more than
100,000 registered boats. Tourists join us in the summer to enjoy boating
activities, and natives to Maine can’t wait to get our boats tuned up and
back in the water after each long winter. At F.A. Peabody, we know more than most that “Things Happen”
and we don’t want you to be worried about them when you are enjoying your
time in the sun. Before you leave the dock, make sure you are knowledgeable
about the rules and regulations of watercraft, preferably having gained that
knowledge from a boating safety class. Also follow some of these tips:
Always know what you have for coverage. Don’t assume your
home or auto insurance will cover damage to your boat, liability for damage
to others’ property, or bodily injury to yourself, passengers, or people on
other boats. We insure any kind of boat you can imagine: canoes, jet skis,
sailboats, fishing boats, yachts, etc. Contact us to discuss the different
types and amounts of coverage we can provide. We can save money by bundling
your watercraft insurance with your home and/or auto coverage. Enjoy our beautiful water as often as you can before it turns
back to ice this winter! Just call us first for a bit of peace of mind. |

Our Summer Intern - Isabel Cyr |
||||
Meet our summer intern, Isabel Cyr! Isabel is a computer science major at Roger Williams
University in Bristol, RI. With an interest in websites, she is a perfect
fit for helping our marketing department to increase our exposure in the
online world. She has been researching SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and
creating a plan to bump up F.A. Peabody on Google searches. She says, “Going into this internship I didn’t know anything
about SEO and what makes a website rank on Google. I’ve only had previous experience
with coding and what I’ve learned in my computer science classes in college. "Everyone here has been so friendly and enjoyable to be
around, from saying hello on their way past my desk or giving me candy, it’s
made working here an incredible experience. "What I’ve learned with SEO and how to audit a website
is something that I’ll be proud to put on my resume." Isabel is a 2021 graduate of Houlton High School and is the
daughter of Joe and Charity Cyr of Houlton. |

Is Pet Insurance Worth It? |
||||
Nobody loves pets more than we do! We have spent years and
thousands of dollars helping Maine animal shelters protect our favorite
furry (or sometimes smooth and slimy) animals. We know that when our pets
suffer, we suffer, and we would do anything to help them. Pet insurance can
help! What is pet insurance? Pet insurance can help your pet get the best veterinary care
available in Maine, when they need it, by reducing your out of pocket costs.
Plus, preventive wellness options could help you stay ahead of any potential
issues altogether. Why do I need it?
Choose what’s right for you. Our pet insurance company, Safeco, has two policy options to
choose from offering coverage for accidents, illnesses, and routine
wellness. Plus, you can select the right reimbursement payout,
deductible, and annual maximum for your needs and budget. We also have other
pet insurance options, so call us to get what’s best for you! |
