Houlton, Maine – F.A. Peabody Company is pleased to announce recent changes and additions to its Accounting Department, reflecting the company’s steady growth and strategic investment in financial management and business development.
Michelle Kuindersma has been promoted to Accounting Administrator. Michelle has steadily advanced through several roles in the company, contributing to areas such as reception, payment processing, billing, and accounting.
“This is a natural development of Michelle’s steady progression through vital areas of our company, as she has demonstrated ability and initiative towards daily aspects of our reception and accounting processes,” said Christopher Anderson, President. “Michelle has brought innovation and efficiency throughout her path of progress at our company.”
In her new role, Michelle will take on an expanded role, administering various agency tasks that interface with the Accounting Department and working closely with the CFO on broader accounting and finance initiatives.
Michelle lives in Oakfield with her husband, Todd, and son, Daniel.
F.A. Peabody Company also congratulates Misty Ewan, who has joined the Accounting Department as an Accounting Clerk. Misty has been a valued member of the F.A. Peabody team, previously serving as the Front Desk/Reception Clerk in the Houlton office.
“Misty comes to us with a background in accounting and systems and has gained front line experience as Houlton’s Front Desk/Reception Clerk until now,” said Peter Holmes, CFO. “She is eager to leverage her skill and experience towards our Accounting Department and we are very glad to welcome her as a valuable part of our expanding department.”
In her new role, Misty will support key functions in billing, banking, insurance carrier integration, and various back-office processes.
These changes follow the 2023 transfer of Kezia Kinney from the Houlton Front Desk to the Accounting Clerk position, another key step in the department’s ongoing expansion. “Kezia’s attention to detail and consistency have enhanced our team’s overall performance, both in supporting our 13 insurance locations and 2 non-insurance subdivisions, as well as in fostering strong vendor relations, for example,” according to Peter Holmes, CFO. “She has embraced the challenges of our fast-paced growth, and her contributions continue to support our team’s momentum.”
The Accounting Department’s growth reflects the increasing complexity and volume of transactions across the organization. The demand for hands-on expertise has grown steadily over the past 8 to 10 years, largely due to the company’s expansion, rising policy and customer counts, increased regulatory reporting, and the evolving financial needs of affiliated companies such as Pioneer Broadband.
These strategic staffing updates are part of F.A. Peabody Company’s commitment to strengthening its financial infrastructure, ensuring long-term success and scalability in a growing and dynamic industry.
