Madawaska, Maine – The F. A. Peabody Company (FAPCO) announces the acquisition of the Levite E. Rossignol Agency of Madawaska, Maine.  The agency business currently has one employee, Marie Chamberland, a multi-line agent with over forty years of experience selling and servicing personal insurance.  Marie will be joining FAPCO.

Levite Rossignol started in the insurance business in 1968 as a property casualty agency serving the Madawaska area.  Eventually the business expanded with a location in Fort Kent.  In the early 80’s the business transitioned to Levite’s sons Eldon and Philip Rossignol.  Eldon eventually purchased Philip’s interest after Philip became ill.   Subsequently, Eldon’s son, Richard Rossignol, came in to the business working alongside his father and after a few years he acquired the business when Eldon retired.  Richard operated the agency alongside long time employee, Marie Chamberland, for twenty two years until his untimely death earlier this year.  “Richard was a good insurance man with a big heart.  He treated customers honestly and fairly.  While we are saddened by his passing we are pleased the heirs believed F. A. Peabody Company will take care of the customers in the same fashion as Richard did,” states Christopher Anderson, president of FAPCO.

The F. A. Peabody Company hopes to carry on the success of the Rossignol Agency well into the future and is very pleased that Marie Chamberland is joining the firm.  Marie has been in the business for over forty years working for various agency operations throughout the Saint John Valley.  She started her career with A. C. Madore of Van Buren in 1981 obtaining her property casualty multi-line agent license shortly thereafter.  In 1992, Marie transitioned to the Andy Daigle Agency of Madawaska.  As changes and opportunities arose, she then moved to L. E. Rossignol in 1997 and has been there to this day.  “The minute I met Marie I quickly came to realize her deep sense of commitment and empathy toward the people she serves.  Her passion is to help people.  I like that.” exclaims Anderson.  Marie resides in St. Agatha on Long Lake with her husband.  She has two sons and two grandchildren all of whom live nearby.

FAPCO has been insuring folks in the Saint John Valley for many years through branch offices outside of the Saint John Valley and indirectly through a special agency management arrangement with NorState Insurance Services, a credit union service organization of NorState Federal Credit Union.  In 2017, FAPCO acquired the A. D. Insurance Agency and opened a storefront on Main Street in Madawaska creating the company’s ninth retail location.  The L. E. Rossignol Agency operations will be merged with this Madawaska branch.  “We are honored to make another investment in the Saint John Valley and become a partner in the community’s future development,” exclaims Christopher Anderson.  He states further, “Our strategy is simple; provide quality insurance advice, products and service with honesty and integrity at a fair price.”

The F. A. Peabody Company was founded by Frank Allen Peabody in Houlton, Maine in 1927 selling auto, home, business and farm insurance.  Today, FAPCO employs over ninety people and writes all lines of insurance including life, health and bonding statewide through over thirty admitted and non-admitted insurers.  The company also owns and operates FAPCO Administrative Services, a third party administrator servicing mortuary trust and municipal capital accounts and Pioneer Broadband, a wholly-owned subsidiary delivering high-speed internet services to rural Maine communities.
