We realize that if we asked you to list your 10 least favorite things, insurance would likely make the list. We know insurance isn’t fun, and in our day-to-day work, we’re very serious about it, making sure you have the coverage and service you need and pay for. We also realize that being serious about insurance on Facebook probably isn’t going to be very popular, so we like to make our social media marketing a little more community oriented and fun!
We have been having a blast with our Facebook photo contests. For several years, we’ve had a pumpkin carving contest in the fall, with dozens of creative entries. The 2013 winner was Caeley Brown of Houlton, with this painstakingly beautiful work of art.
Last year we started the Things Happen contest with the hopes of finding some clever takes on our theme, with promising results. Bruce Barker of Mattamiscontis, and his grandson, picked up the win with this adorable photo.
Things Happen also had some clever runners up. If you can’t make out the 2nd photo, it’s an x-ray of a dog that had swallowed it’s owner’s diamond earrings. Things Happen, indeed!
In December 2013, our Facebook page exploded with our first annual Christmas Pet Photo Contest. Over 100 pet photos adorned our wall, and the winner nabbed a donation to their favorite animal shelter. Here is just a small sampling:
After what seemed like an eternal winter, we launched the Spring Happens Contest in March, and asked for submissions of sunsets and sunrises. The winner received $50 and a $100 donation to the Project Grad of her choice.
We’ve gotten to know our customers and fans a lot better through all of these contests, and we’ve been happy to donate some money and have fun in the process! We’re looking forward to hosting more contests soon!
In the meantime, we’ll also try and keep you informed about insurance stuff, because we can’t always step away from being serious.
